Matthew

  1. 17:1  And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
  2. 2  And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
  3. 3  And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
  4. 4  Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
  5. 5  While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
  6. 6  And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.
  7. 7  And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.
  8. 8  And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.
  9. 9  And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.
  10. 10  And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?
  11. 11  And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.
  12. 12  But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
  13. 13  Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

  15. 9:2  And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
  16. 3  And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.
  17. 4  And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.
  18. 5  And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
  19. 6  For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.
  20. 7  And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
  21. 8  And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves.
  22. 9  And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead.
  23. 10  And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean.
  24. Luke

  25. 28  And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.
  26. 29  And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.
  27. 30  And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:
  28. 31  Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.
  29. 32  But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.
  30. 33  And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.
  31. 34  While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.
  32. 35  And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
  33. 36  And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.
  34. 28  And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.
  35. Matthew

  36. 14:23  And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
  37. Luke

  38. 22:45  And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,
  39. 9:32  But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.
  40. Luke

  41. 33  And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.
  42. Matthew

  43. 16:21  From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
  44. 22  Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.
  45. 23  But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
  46. Mark

  47. 8:31  And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
  48. 32  And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him.
  49. 33  But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.
  50. Luke

  51. 9:18  And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am?
  52. 19  They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old prophets is risen again.
  53. 20  He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.
  54. 21  And he straitly charged them, and commanded them to tell no man that thing;
  55. 22  Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.
  56. Exodus

  57. 3:6  Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.
  58. 19:9  And the LORD said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee for ever. And Moses told the words of the people unto the LORD.
  59. 20:1  And God spake all these words, saying,
  60. 18  And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.
  61. 19  And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
